AI Art or NOT?... |
What do you think? AI has quietly worked it’s way into our lives over the last 18 months, if like me you were resistant at first, then also like me you are probably playing catch up Over the last 6 months I’ve been using an AI app to mess around with and create art, I know what you’re thinking, no it’s not Midjourney! The app I’ve been using is called NightCafe, which was started in Australia quite a while ago, it was not as capable as Midjourney for a while but it was free But now they have introduced better capability, and some of the images it has created for me are on a par with Midjourney et al, but all platforms still struggle with forming letters Here’s a piece of Japanese Manga art I produced with NightCafe…
With a background of almost 15 years in design when I was younger, generating art through an app in seconds is mind blowing for me, my creative juices are flowing right now! Like everything else, it takes time and effort, making mistakes and plenty of wasting your credits before you become better at it The results are visually stunning once you get a good handle on what prompts to use, and the different uses for the end result are many So what is my overall opinion I hear you say? Well, whilst I am still thinking that gifted artists and designers like myself should still create their own masterpieces, I am now a convert to utilising AI to make the process quicker, much much quicker indeed! But natural talent is still required for you to be able to pick out a good piece of AI art that can be used for different side hustle options AI is ushering in a new age of creativity and speed of creation for artists and designers like me.. In my opinion you shouldn’t resist this wave, you should ride it, and it’s going to be a long and beautifully creative ride Until next time, thank you for reading Matt - Legacy Lounge. P.S.
